My Universe

Before September 2022, I had never taken an art or drawing class. All my illustrations were “naive” and “instinctive” as I had no plan in mind whenever I brought my pen to the surface of a blank page. Edgar Allan Poe, Federico Garcia Lorca, Gabriela Mistral, Walt Whitman, Chopin, Garbage and Aterciopelados are just some of the many poets and musicians who inspired my creations through the years.

I drew my first opera singer and cyclopes in December 1999. Since then, these characters have repeatedly cropped up in my work. I also enjoy drawing and painting eyes, mouths, hands, snails, snakes and more recently electricity, tarot cards, brains, aliens and spiders. All the characters that I create scrutinize their worlds and express sincerely their points of view.

A couple of years ago, in 2022, I started attending Saturday painting classes at the Atelier d’Orbo in Paris. I learned new techniques. I now work with among others collage, pastels, oils, acrylics and water-based inks, I love using several techniques and media in the same creation.
