Collage on sewing threads. The main character has glass eyes and animal bones
33 cms X 43 cms
When I was a child in Bogota my father used to tell me the stories and adventures of the Greek and Nordic gods. My bedtime tales included the adventures of Zeus, Ulysses, Poseidon, etc. I learned how the gods ruled from Olympus, how they played and punished humans and about their fear of being dethroned. In 2024 in memory of my father I started to work on a series of suspended collages depicting Greek myths and characters. These include Tantalus, Medussa, Icarus, Arachne and Eris.
The technique used in this series is the same as in the Tarot suspended collages except the size of each work has increased making the weaving of the thread web more complicated and the suspension of each character more delicate.
